This was an interesting challenge, as the eardrum had to bounce around in Z space to show the effect of a sound wave hitting it, as well as needing a fully animatable face.

To do this, 2 facial sculpts were made in order to achieve the full expression range needed in this sequence.


In order to make the eardrum bounce, it was cast in soft silicone, and attached to an adjustable tripod head from below, which allowed me to crank the face up and down as I animated.
